Lauren“I signed up for the AirBNB Brooklyn Half Marathon (my first!) somewhat last-minute (about 8 weeks out). When an injury sidelined my original training plans for a few weeks, I was panicked that I wouldn’t be able to train safely in the time I had. Melissa from VCEP stepped in and curated a training plan that worked perfectly with my work/workout schedule and injury recovery. She was always available for additional guidance, including offering additional training options when vacations or weather conflicts came up, tips for nutrition/fueling for training runs and on race day, and post-run recovery tips. To put it blankly: she was always happy to answer my newbie running questions and random, nitty-gritty running curiosities. I’ll continue to trust her running expertise whether I’m training for an event or just running for maintenance, and plan to recommend her to friends.”
RobynRobyn's goal was simply to learn to love running.... but she didn't know where to start! With a little targeted coaching (keeping it fun but challenging), Robyn felt she was finally enjoying runs and feeling fit in a way she had never felt before, despite always being athletic. Robyn now loves running the difficult, yet scenic trails in the Colorado foothills, and uses some simple training tips from VCEP to keep up her running fitness.

NickNick has been a competitive triathlete for may years, but was looking for the right coach to take him to the next level. With one year of VCEP coaching, Nick rocketed from a 12th place finish in 2016 to winning the USA Triathlon Collegiate Club National Championship non-draft Olympic distance race in 2017.
Nick then chose to shift his focus to competing in long-course triathlons, with the help of targeted training and guidance from his VCEP coach. Nick went on to dominate the non-professional field, taking home the gold at his first Half-Ironman (70.3 Victoria), and qualifying for the 70.3 World Championships. A little more than a month later, Nick blew away the field at Ironman Santa Rosa, winning hist first-ever Ironman in a blazing time of 8:53, and qualifying for the Ironman World Championships in Kona, Hawaii. We are excited to see Nick step up to the challenge of these world championship events! LeighLeigh successfully completed her first ever half-Ironman triathlon, and qualified for the World Championships in the process! She came to VCEP looking for some guidance to tackle the 70.3 distance, after having completed some sprint- and Olympic-distance races in the past. Leigh has stepped up to the challenge of rigorous long-course training , and is working hard to make her weaknesses into strengths with personalized coaching. She is enjoying tough, targeted workouts in preparation for 70.3 Worlds in South Africa!
